Hannah Mira
LCSW, C-PD, CCTP
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Certified Clinical Trauma Professional (CCTP), and Certified Personality Disorder Professional (C-PD). I work with children, adolescents, adults, and families navigating trauma, family dynamics, neurodivergence, anxiety and mood concerns, substance use, and life transitions. I have a particular interest in working with people who are neurodivergent or are exploring how their family of origin has shaped who they are today. I also enjoy working with young people who are trying to figure out who they are while navigating the expectations of family, school, peers, and the world around them.
My therapeutic approach is supportive, direct, thoughtful, and humorous. I want therapy to feel like a place where you can be yourself while also being challenged and encouraged to grow. Together, we’ll work to make sense of what brought you here, identify patterns that may no longer be serving you, and develop tools for creating healthier relationships with yourself and the people around you. I draw from psychodynamic therapy, Internal Family Systems (IFS), schema therapy, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), along with trauma-informed and neurodiversity-affirming practices.
Before becoming a therapist, I spent eight years working in education, teaching in both a private school and a juvenile detention facility. Those experiences taught me early on the importance of meeting people where they are, looking beyond behaviors to understand how children communicate, and understanding the systems and experiences that shape us. I also worked as an Emergency Medical Technician, an experience that strengthened my ability to remain calm, present, and grounded during difficult and unpredictable situations.
My educational background includes a Bachelor of Arts in English and a graduate teaching credential from the University of California, Irvine, followed by a Master of Social Work from the University of Massachusetts Global where I was a member of the Phi Alpha Honor Society.
Outside of my professional life, I’m an Orange County native, a wife, and a mother to a son. I’m passionate about volunteering in dog rescue and spend much of my free time helping animals find their way into loving homes. I also love film and theater and am an enthusiastic traveler—I’ve been fortunate enough to visit 17 countries. I believe these experiences, along with my professional background, have helped shape my curiosity about people and the many different ways we experience the world.
